AgRAEIS Completes Connecticut FRB Workshops

July 9, 2018

*AgRAEIS, a private provider of crop insurance and risk management training and information, recently completed delivery of Farming is Risky Business (FRB) workshops to Connecticut beginning producers enrolled in Ag-Ed programs. Working within the USDA’s Risk Management Agency’s (RMA) Target Stated Partnerships Program, AgRAEIS teamed with the Connecticut FFA Association to coordinate, promote, and deliver workshops in eight Connecticut locations: Litchfield (Wamogo), Middletown, Suffield, Dayville (Killingly), Woodbury (Nonnewaug), Vernon (Rockville), Lebanon, and Ledyard.

Local Ag-Ed instructors in each location assisted in coaching participants through the workshop content, and farm simulation exercise. With over 400 participants reached across the eight sessions, AgRAEIS and the Connecticut FFA Association view the outreach effort to be highly successful. Further, participating Ag-Ed instructors expressed appreciation for the program, as follows:

  • My students loved this! Thanks for coming.
  • Our students were fully engaged in the presentation; it was absolutely worthwhile.
  • Definitely worth doing!!!

AgRAEIS appreciates the assistance of the Connecticut FFA and USDA/RMA in making the partnership a success.
